Blog Assignment #2

Cell phones are the addiction everyone has. I don't think I know a single person without a cell phone. I constantly see people who are checking their phones in class or at work. I wonder if anyones can just be in the moment, and focus on what is happening right now.http://www.dontdrinkthekoolaidblog.com We like to think that we are multi-taskers, but is their such a thing? It is more along the lines of switch task thinkers. We switch from one task to the next, this can be quick, hence the term multi-taskers, we don't even realize we do this when we do. I know personally when I am texting someone while I am doing homework, or at work or even school, I have a hard time really focusing on what I am doing or learning, it is like I am half there.
Cell phones really are, taking over our lives, think about it, how many of you think about getting a new cell, or wish you had someone else's, I know that I want an Iphone so bad that I have even considered paying the six hundred dollars to get one, I said considered I haven't actually done it, because it is after all six hundred dollars. Think about all the apps and other stuff you can buy to make your phone even cooler, it is like when is enough, going to be enough?
I remember when there was time, when cell phones were still becoming popular and people used a land line to communicate.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jysL-1pWDk We have become so dependant on our cell phones that if we forget them at home, we freak out and feel naked or lost without them. Cell phones today are a great tool, but they have become more of an addiction rather than a tool.
